The waters around St. George are unpredictable and frequently rough.  Even a seasoned kayaker would be well advised to hire a local guide, for their knowledge of the water, the weather and how to appropriately interact with the wildlife. Fortunately Karin Holser has a love of kayaking and has been paddling these water for years. Karin is the owner of the only sea kayaking outfit on the island, and also one of the most experienced and knowledgeable naturalists on the Pribilofs that you will meet. On a calm day, the view of the bird rookeries from the water is a kin to being inside a beehive, and the company of playful fur seals makes the whole experience very memorable indeed.
